Maybe because it's, well.. fake. I'm still willing to try out new piano sounds though. The Grand looks nice... especially if you want real sounding piano. It seems like a main selling point of pianoteq is how small it is. The Grand will be multiple gigs, no doubt.

good one, kick needs to be a bit lower for this kind of tracks, reducing it 1-2 db can add some space and you could mix it again but sounds very good.
Right now it's -3db/-4db right? I usually mix at-5 for chill tracks.

Yeah agreed, I suppose I wasn't too worried about the production value, just wanted to test my piano composition skills because it's been a while since I've tried.
I'll move forward with it and EQ and produce it. Pianoteq verb is pretty shit, I'll do my own work on it. Thanks for checking.

about the piano, i prefer second version it does not sound very natural tho.
Are you playing a midi piano or placing the notes manually? just curious i hope it's the first because seems ellaborated. If you want to add some realism use some slight reverb and stereo delay on the full record or at some parts. Real piano players use the right pedal to add some reverb at some points so you should too.

I drew every note in the piano roll. There is a lot of velocity variation. The humanized version has MPC 16 swing on it, which makes it a little less rigid but I'm still trying to work on getting the sound more realistic. I haven't experimented with stereo effects too much because I wanted to get the composition and so forth timed to where it sounds live. I know it won't ever sound performed live because they're just drawn MIDI notes, but just close enough that the average listener can't tell the difference.
I'm going to work on notching out some of the big mid and low frequencies, processing, and delay/reverb to make it sound more presentable.
L4C, where you at? ^_^
