Thanks for the update mate.
I'm struggling with mine at the moment. There are so many different directions I feel that I could take the mix in and I'm at a standstill at what I want to actually record. I'll figure it out soon. I have annual leave coming up this month so I'm going to try and lock myself in the house and get this done.

Listening to hellweg-dancing-on-mir-part-1 right now and so far this has really surprised me in a great way. Really not expecting this at all so was very refreshing and made me change what I was going to do a little bit
On mine, I have been buying vinyls for the best part of a year trying to unearth forgotten/hidden gems from the past and present and plan to mix them on technics in one shot so thats why im taking so long lol
should be done in March sometime i've almost ran out of stuff to buy

WHAT A SET!! You have gained a massive fan.
I honestly can say this is the best thing I have heard in years and I mean that pro or otherwise. I looked at the tracklist and thought what the fuck is this and was not expecting much but its blew my mind.
Every track was just perfect for background vibes that you would find yourself just hooking into and find your swaying and nodding without even thinking about it. Mixed very well considering the difference and changes in genres I really loved it kept me grooving at my desk. even the simple fade outs didnt drop the vibe or energy for me they were straight into the meat of the tracks.
Standout track of the first hour and there were many which you have opened my eyes too is D'Marc Cantu - The Lodge. Really blew me away this, the mix from Winston Surfshirt - Be About You (Roy Davis Jr. Echo Dirty Dub) into this I honestly never heard the transition first time around. Really hypnotic and smooth. I did not mind short transitions here it seemed to suit the flow and never really interrupted the energy. Liked Yooks - Imagine felt it was building at this point to a climax / new DJ coming on and I was more than warmed up and ready at this point.
Track after track I find myself having to consult the tracklist and adding to the 'must buy' pile. I would love a download link also I will be revisiting this mix for future plane journeys. The wealth of genres here really felt fresh to me it has something for everyone I defy anyone not to be bopping their head to this and shaking their hips in some fashion.
My only negatives - that Mark Broom track, felt that was totally a downer on mood and out of place. Same with Appleblim - Astral Light Highway / Nullptr - Skyline near the end. GREAT tracks but I was really up for 4/4 rhythms and clubbing at this point and this just dropped it right back down too sharply i felt so never got the ultimate payoff I was hoping for.
Oh and some tracks reminded me of Nandos and Im trying to diet!!!

Yeah, I felt that as well. If I'd had two more hours and was playing at a much bigger venue, the end of my set would've definitely been the time to throw some heavy leather at the dancefloor. But I only had four hours, and the bar I played at is tiny. Therefore, I had to settle for simply hinting at more peak time affairs rather than actually going for it full bore.
I'm not as down on the Mark Broom track as you are, I think. I wanted to pull things back a bit at that point for the reasons mentioned earlier, but maybe I could have padded that process out a bit more. This is ultimately how my set went down, though, so I didn't want to fuss with the structure too much.

So I've listened to both Nick and Sand Leaper's mix in their entirety a few times now. Both are outstanding additions to this competition.
For Nick's mix, I actually enjoyed the beginning of the set. It was the perfect soundtrack to getting going for my gym workouts. As Jack mentioned, I wasn't too sure on the whole transition from that to breaks as to me, it felt like two completely different mixes. As you are ending with some legit prog-psy, and then going into some lighter progbreaks.
That being said, the breaks section was awesome. There were a few transitions that I thought were rushed and sort of messed with the flow of the mix, but at the end there were some ACE transitions that I absolutely loved. I'll have to go back and listen on my computer to pinpoint these, as at the gym I'm not actively checking my phone for timestamps and then remembering them when I get home. This was a proper workout mix for me, kudos!
For Sand Leaper's mix, this to me might be one of the standouts so far in the competition. As you said, it wasn't that much of a gym playlist, but I was able to listen to it a few times on a few long drives I have had to make and could picture the little bar you mixed it at and the atmosphere as you went along in the mix. There were some gorgeous tracks and then of course, some areas of the mix where I wish you continued on with the energy rather than bringing it back down. To me it was a very eclectic and dare I say, brave mix to put together. Your music library is obviously super vast and that is on full display in this mix. That being said, you pulled it off and I think in some cases, the short transitions were needed to mix some of the tracks you put together.
I had very similar positives and criticisms to this mix as the-sixth did, and mainly it was because I personally was in the mood for some continual 4x4 rhythm and dancing at the end. I understand the direction and structure of the mix though considering this was an actual live set with dancers and an atmosphere to consider.

In terms of my mix, I am actively going through my vinyls right now. I have decided it will be a combined digital and vinyl mix, moreso on the digital side just because of the direction I want to take this mix in. I was originally going to focus on prog only, but didn't want to over-saturate this competition with prog mixes. I apologize for the wait but frankly, I haven't had much motivation to mix anything other than dnb at the moment. That's been the biggest hurdle for me in completing this competition. That being said, I am putting my ass in high gear to get this competition done.
