exact same thing i do, i have a portable that has USB connection to my computer. anytime im spinning, im recording on that MD. then i listen to it usually when im walkin around campus, lets me listen to my mix and improve things, then when i get something i think sounds good, i can easily transfer to my computer and burn to CD. the funny thing is i got that MD deck about 5 or 6 years ago, when they first came out, so yours is probably newer. it was one of the first US models. ive only been spinning for a few months, but damn it worked out nicely.

Damn, Scott...after seeing those pictures of your setup, I regret not being able to attend the pre-party you held last week!

Hey, you're going to Eleven50 Nov. 6th? Know of any other TA's going? If you do, we should meet up! I love that venue.

I'm probably going to organize another TA dinner party for Ferry.

nice to see the widespread minidisc use... it really is so easy to burn and shit on those things....
But Ive been tryin to get my shit on the comp for ages now but cant figure out what software/hardware to use... What are you guys using?
I got a good comp but i dont have any digital sound input on my sound card so I would imagine I would have to use the analog headphone input for my sound card and try to record the sound that way. What kind of programs do you guys use to record sounds?

I don't know how to put this exactly in a way that doesn't sound paranoid, but don't you guys worry about your gear?
To be more specific, I've been living in apartment/condo style buildings all my life, which generally adds a bit of security at the expense of not being able to turn things up loud.
In a house, you have the ability to crank things like crazy, but you have less in the way of security. I would be kind of worried about my gear walking off one day.
